These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Last Word application (the "Service"), provided by APHVN Limited, registered in England and Wales (company number 15968200). By using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. The AI Opponent Is a Character

Your debate opponent is a fictional AI character deliberately voicing bad-faith and misleading arguments so you can practise dismantling them. The opponent's statements are training material, not our views, and are often intentionally wrong. AI-generated speech may occasionally be inaccurate or offensive despite our safeguards; you can report any output from within the App and we review reports. The App takes an explicitly anti-bigotry stance: opponents argue positions so you can learn to counter them, never the reverse.

2. Not Professional Advice

The fact base is human-curated, dated and cited, and provided for general information and debate practice only. It is not legal, financial, medical, or professional advice, and while we work to keep it accurate and current, we do not guarantee it is free of errors. Verify information independently before relying on it outside the App.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service. The Service discusses political and social themes, including discrimination. If you are under 18 (or the age of majority where you live), you may only use the Service with the consent of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms.

4. Your Account

You are responsible for activity under your account and for the accuracy of the information you enter. You may delete your account at any time within the App.

5. Subscriptions and Payments

• Some features of the Service require a paid subscription.
• Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play and managed in your store account.
• Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period, subscriptions renew automatically at the then-current price.
• Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store / Google Play account settings; deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
• Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable.

6. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to harass, threaten, or abuse any person, or attempt to make the AI produce unlawful, hateful, or harmful content.
• Record, share, or present AI opponent output as statements of fact or as the views of APHVN Limited.
• Misuse, disrupt, or overload the Service, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to it.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code, models, or prompts behind the Service.
• Use automated means to access the Service without our written permission.

7. Content and Moderation

We may monitor, review, and remove content that violates these Terms, and we may suspend or terminate accounts involved in violations. In-app reporting is provided for offensive or harmful AI output, and we act on reports.

8. Intellectual Property

The Service and its content, including the fact base, characters, and software (excluding data you enter), are owned by APHVN Limited and protected by law. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to use the App.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, APHVN Limited is not liable for any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of the Service, including reliance on AI-generated content or the outcome of any real-world conversation or dispute. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms and will revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use means you accept the changes.

11. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
